PACK ERRORS & FAQ
MotionDuck packs in Premiere Pro will have no apply button and the After Effects version will have an Apply button. If you cannot apply templates from the MotionDuck extension, here is what to do:
SOLUTION
If you downloaded both versions of the pack, please uninstall the pack. Here’s how:
- Click on the “Duck” logo at the top of the extension.
- Hover over the pack and click the “X” icon to uninstall. You might need to uninstall both the After Effects and Premiere Pro version.
- Restart After Effects and/or Premiere Pro
- Install the pack. Install the After Effects version in After Effects and the Premiere Pro version in Premiere Pro.
Please do the following steps in order until the solution is found:
Step 1 – Please restart your computer.
Step 2 – Do the following test:
- Create a NEW Premiere pro Project.
- Import two shots into the timeline.
- Import a transition.
If the video is no longer black, you will not be able to apply transitions in your last project. You can import your older Premiere Pro project file into a New Premiere project and continue working. Simply, you can drag and drop a Premiere Pro project file into the project panel in Premiere Pro and access your previous project.
Step 3:
- In Premiere Pro, go to File – Project Settings – General.
- Under Renderer, change to another option if available.
- Change the Renderer to “Mercury Playback Engine Software Only”. Click OK.
- If the screen is still black, delete the current transition and import one again.
If everything is still black, move on to the next step:
Step 4:
- Go to Edit – Preferences – Media.
- Then check the Hardware accelerated decoding (requires restart).
- Restart Premiere Pro.
In order to fix this error you need to temporarily change your Premiere Pro language to English.
You may watch a tutorial on how to quickly do this here:
- In Premiere Pro, type “CTRL + F12” (PC) or “CMD +F12” (MAC).
- Go to the Console panel and click on the three lined icon.
- Click “Debug Database View”
- In the search bar, type “ApplicationLanguage”. You may need to translate that to your language.
- Then next to AppplicationLanguage, change the code to “en_US”.
- Close the Console Panel and restart Premiere Pro.
Now the template should correctly work.
After you are done working on your project, you may go back to the console and change it back to your language.
Here is the list of language codes, so you can find your language: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/linkedin/shared/references/reference-tables/language-codes
Please keep me posted.
